Elle fournit des services bancaires aux particuliers et aux entreprises, des prêts, des services bancaires en ligne et des services d'investissement. La société opère à travers les segments suivants : Retail, Institutional, Private, Corporate, Investment Banking, Insurance, Strategic Partnerships, Finance and Corporate Centre. Le segment de détail offre la gestion et la commercialisation de services ou de produits bancaires et financiers, ainsi que le courtage de prêts aux particuliers et aux petites entreprises. Le segment institutionnel comprend la gestion et la commercialisation de services ou produits bancaires et financiers et le courtage de prêts à des organismes et institutions (OPCVM, SICAV, compagnies d'assurance, fonds de pension et fondations bancaires). Le segment Privé se concentre sur la gestion et la commercialisation de services ou de produits bancaires et financiers et sur le courtage de prêts à des clients privés disposant d'un patrimoine. Le segment Corporate assure la gestion et la commercialisation de services ou de produits bancaires et financiers et le courtage de prêts aux moyennes et grandes entreprises. Le segment de la banque d'investissement comprend la recherche de solutions pour la gestion efficace des actifs et des passifs des clients, afin de réduire leurs risques financiers. Le secteur de l'assurance fournit la contribution des intérêts détenus dans Vera Vita, Vera Assicurazioni, Banco BPM Vita et Banco BPM Assicurazioni. Le segment des partenariats stratégiques offre l'apport des parts détenues dans Agos Ducato, Alba Leasing, SelmaBipiemme Leasing, Gardant Liberty Servicing, Anima Holding et Numia Group. Le segment Finance comprend les activités relatives au portefeuille de titres détenus, à la trésorerie, à la gestion de l'actif et du passif du groupe et au stock d'émissions obligataires placées sur les marchés institutionnels. Le segment Corporate Centre regroupe les activités relatives à l'activité de leasing, aux participations non allouées aux Partenariats Stratégiques et aux sociétés opérant dans le secteur de l'immobilier. La société a été fondée le 12 décembre 1865 et a son siège à Vérone, en Italie.
