It operates through the following segments: Corporate and Commercial Banking; Individual and Private Banking; Treasury Transaction and Investment Activities; Insurance and Reinsurance Activities; and Others. The Corporate and Commercial Banking segment offers services to large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other trading companies. The Individual and Private Banking segment provides deposits, consumer loans, overdraft accounts, credit cards, bill collections, remittances, foreign currency trading, safe-deposit boxes, insurance, tax collections, and investment accounts. The Treasury Transaction and Investment Activities segment includes security trading, money market transactions, and derivative transactions. The Insurance and Reinsurance Activities segment covers retail, commercial, global risk markets via life, non-life, pension, and heavy reinsurance coverage. The Others segment offers residual, unallocated, and distinct non-core operations. The company was founded by Mahmud Celal, Mahmut, Hüseyin Beyzade Ibrahim, Mora Yenisehirli Zade Ethem Hasan, and Ihsan on August 26, 1924 and is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey.
