Description

West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. engages in the production of lumber and engineered wood products. It operates through the following business segments: Lumber, North America Engineered Wood Products (NA EWP), Pulp and Paper, Europe Engineered Wood Products (Europe EWP), and Corporate and Other. The Lumber segment refers to manufacturing, selling, marketing, and distributing lumber. The NA EWP segment includes North American OSB, plywood, MDF, and LVL operations. The Pulp and Paper segment is involved in the production of pulp and paper mills. The Europe EWP segment operates the U.K. and Belgium OSB, MDF, and particleboard. The Corporate and Other segment relate to other wood products and related activities. The company was founded by Henry Holman Jr Ketcham, Samuel Kendall Ketcham, and William Peters Ketcham on January 28, 1955 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.

We calculate this parameter for 1, 3 and 5 year periods to display its evolution over time.
  • Maximum drawdown for a period. This shows the worst possible loss an investor could have suffered during the respective period, by first buying and subsequently selling the asset at the least favourable prices. For example, if there was the following sequence of daily ETF prices: 10€, 5€, 12€, 20€, an investor would have suffered the worst loss by buying for 10€ and subsequently selling for 5€. Therefore in this case the maximum drawdown would be (5€ - 10€)/10€ = -50%.
