Kyocera Corp. ontwikkelt, produceert en distribueert producten gebaseerd op fijne keramiektechnologieën. Het bedrijf is actief via de volgende bedrijfssegmenten: Core Components Business, Electronic Components Business en Solutions Business. Het Core Components Business segment biedt fijnkeramische onderdelen en beschermende pakketten voor de productie van halfgeleiders, cameramodules voor auto's en elektronische componenten in verschillende industrieën, waaronder halfgeleiders, industriële machines, auto's en informatie en communicatie. Het Electronic Components Business segment biedt een breed scala aan elektronische componenten en apparaten, waaronder condensatoren, kristalonderdelen, connectoren en vermogenshalfgeleiders, voor de informatie- en communicatie-, industriële apparatuur-, auto- en consumentenmarkten. Het Solutions Business segment biedt snijgereedschap en pneumatisch en elektrisch gereedschap voor de auto-industrie, de algemene industrie en de bouw; printers voor kantoren; en communicatieterminals, zoals mobiele telefoons, informatiesystemen en telecommunicatiediensten. Het bedrijf werd op 1 april 1959 opgericht door Kazuo Inamori en het hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Kyoto, Japan.
