Arnoldo Mondadori Editore SpA engages in the publishing business. It operates through the following business segments: Books, Retail, Media, and Corporate & Shared Services. The Books segment is comprised of fiction and non-fiction works, paperbacks, children's books, textbooks, art, illustrated books, and electronic books. The Retail segment operates stores, direct sales outlets, franchises, the web, and book clubs through its subsidiary, Mondadori Direct SpA. The Media segment covers the group's small to medium-sized advertising investors and media centers. The Corporate & Shared Services segment performs parent company functions through the provision of services such as information technology and communications, administration, management control and planning, treasury and finance, human resources, legal and corporate affairs, and public relations to the companies of the group and the different business areas. The company was founded by Arnoldo Mondadori in 1907 and is headquartered in Segrate, Italy.
