LG Chem Ltd. engages in the manufacture of petrochemicals, IT & electronic materials, and energy solution materials. It operates through the following business divisions: Petrochemical, Advanced Materials, Life Science, LG Energy Solution, and Common and Other. The Petrochemical business division focuses on the production of basic oils such as ethylene, propylene, butadiene, and benzene. The Advanced Materials business division is involved in the development, production, and sale of core materials in the IT and home appliance industry and automobile industry. The Life Science business division refers to the production and sale of vaccines and drugs. The LG Energy Solution business division engages in the research, development, manufacture, and sale of battery-related products to electric vehicles, energy storage systems, IT devices, power tools, and light electric vehicles. The Common and Other business division consists of the manufacture and sale of crop protection agents, seeds, and fertilizers. The company was founded in January 1947 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
