Het segment Networking Platforms bestaat uit geconvergeerde packet optical en packet networking portfolio's. Het Platform Software and Services segment levert analyses, gegevens en planningstools om klanten te helpen bij het beheren van de producten van het netwerkplatform. Het Blue Planet Automation Software and Services segment stelt klanten in staat om grootschalige software en IT-gestuurde OSS transformaties te implementeren door legacy netwerken te transformeren in service ready netwerken. Het segment Global Services biedt een breed pakket diensten met toegevoegde waarde. Het bedrijf werd in 1992 opgericht door Patrick H. Nettles en Kevin Brian Kimberlin en heeft zijn hoofdkantoor in Hanover, MD.
