EchoStar Corp. houdt zich bezig met het ontwerp, de ontwikkeling en distributie van digitale set-top boxes en producten voor direct-to-home satelliet service providers. Het bedrijf is actief via de volgende bedrijfssegmenten: Pay-TV, Retail Wireless, 5G Network Deployment en Broadband and Satellite Services. De bedrijfsstrategie van het Pay-TV segment is om de beste aanbieder van videodiensten in de Verenigde Staten te zijn door producten te leveren met de beste technologie, uitstekende klantenservice en grote waarde. Het segment Retail Wireless biedt Retail Wireless-diensten en een concurrerende portefeuille van draadloze apparaten. De bedrijfsstrategie van het segment 5G Network Deployment is om draadloze spectrumlicenties te commercialiseren door de voltooiing van 5G Network Deployment. De bedrijfsstrategie van het segment Breedband- en Satellietdiensten is het behouden en verbeteren van de leiderschapspositie en het concurrentievoordeel door de ontwikkeling van technologieën en diensten voor geselecteerde sectoren binnen de consumenten-, bedrijfs- en overheidsmarkten wereldwijd. Het bedrijf werd in 1980 opgericht door Charlie William Ergen, Candy Ergen en James DeFranco en heeft zijn hoofdkantoor in Englewood, CO.

- Maximum drawdown for a period. This shows the worst possible loss an investor could have suffered during the respective period, by first buying and subsequently selling the asset at the least favourable prices. For example, if there was the following sequence of daily ETF prices: 10€, 5€, 12€, 20€, an investor would have suffered the worst loss by buying for 10€ and subsequently selling for 5€. Therefore in this case the maximum drawdown would be (5€ - 10€)/10€ = -50%.
