Das Energie- und Finanzdienstleistungsunternehmen Edison International ist die Holdinggesellschaft des öffentlichen Elektrizitätsunternehmens Southern California Edison Company und anderer privater Tochterfirmen. Edison International wurde 1987 gegründet und ist in vier US-Bundesstaaten beziehungsweise weltweit in neun Ländern präsent. Die wichtigsten Tochterunternehmen sind Southern California Edison Company, Edison Mission Energy, Edison Capital und Edison Operations & Maintenance Services. Edison International untergliedert sich gemäß seiner wichtigsten Tochterunternehmen in vier Geschäftsbereiche: Southern California Edison Company, Edison Mission Energy, Edison Capital und Edison Operations & Maintenance Services. Die Southern California Edison Company (SCE) ist ein öffentliches Elektrizitätsversorgungsunternehmen in Kalifornien. Auf einer Fläche von 80.000 km² versorgt SCE in weiten Teilen des US-Bundesstaates ungefähr 800 Städte. Zu den Kunden von SCE gehören sowohl private Haushalte, als auch Wirtschafts- und Industrieunternehmen. Im Juni 2001 hat Edison International die hundertprozentige Tochtergesellschaft Mission Energy Holding Company (MEHC) gegründet, MEHC zugeordnet sind die Unternehmungen von Edsion Emission Energy (EME). EME ist ein unabhängiges Energieunternehmen, das Stromerzeugungsanlagen in Nord- und Südamerika, Europa, im Mittleren Osten, sowie im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum betreibt. Neben der Erzeugung und Gewinnung von elektrischer Energie gehören auch der Energiehandel und Preisrisikomanagement auf deregulierten Märkten zum Leistungsprofil von EME. Edison Capital ist ein Anbieter von Kapital und Finanzdienstleistungen, die auf die Realisierung von Energie- und Infrastrukturprojekten verwendet werden. Dazu gehört der Bau von Anlagen für die Erzeugung, den Transport und die Verteilung von Strom beziehungsweise Energie, sowie Telekommunikationsanlagen. Gegründet im Januar 2001, bedient Operations & Maintenance Services (O&M) sowohl Unternehmen aus der Energieerzeugungsindustrie, als auch Drittfirmen mit seinen Dienstleistungen zur Instandhaltung, Wartung und Betreuung entsprechender Anlagen und Produktionsstätten. Neben SCE, EME, Edison Capital und O&M gehört Edison Enterprises zu den weiteren angeschlossenen Unternehmen von Edison. Die Hauptaufgabe von Edison Enterprises ist die Koordination der Produktverkäufe und Dienstleistungen im Einzelhandelsgeschäft von Edison International. Das Unternehmen ist in Rosemeade/Kalifornien ansässig. Neben weiteren Niederlassungen in den USA (Boston/Ohio, Chicago/Illinois, Washington D.C.) besitzt das Unternehmen Zweigstellen in Europa (Spanien, Türkei, Italien, Großbritannien), Australien, Indonesien, Singapur und auf den Philippinen.

  • Maximum drawdown for a period. This shows the worst possible loss an investor could have suffered during the respective period, by first buying and subsequently selling the asset at the least favourable prices. For example, if there was the following sequence of daily ETF prices: 10€, 5€, 12€, 20€, an investor would have suffered the worst loss by buying for 10€ and subsequently selling for 5€. Therefore in this case the maximum drawdown would be (5€ - 10€)/10€ = -50%.
